GROW 2026 will run from 3pm on Friday October 16 until 2pm on Sunday October 18, at Columbia University.
The GROW conference is intended to provide support and encouragement to undergraduate students considering going to graduate school in the mathematical sciences and to help build a profession in which gender and sex are not barriers to participation. The conference runs annually, and is open to all undergraduates from U.S. colleges and universities, including international students. Students of all genders, sexualities, ethnicities, races, nationalities and religions are encouraged to apply to GROW and these characteristics will not be used in determining funding or participation decisions.
GROW began at Northwestern University in 2015, and ran there for three successive years. It has been hosted at different institutions yearly since then. For previous instances of GROW at other institutions, see this link.
The application period for GROW has closed. We are happy to be able to support participation from over 50 different institutions in the US. We have over 100 participants this year, with half local to the New York area, and half coming from across the country. If you missed applying, or were unable to attend this year, we encourage you to look for the 2027 edition of GROW and apply to that.
GROW 2026 is organized by members of the Columbia Mathematics and Statistics Departments (Ivan Corwin, Richard Davis, Elena Giorgi, Giulia SaccĂ and Tian Zheng), and acknowledges generous support from the following sources: Columbia University Department of Mathematics, Department of Statistics, Herbert and Florence Irving Institute for Cancer Dynamics, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Data Science Institute, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Columbia College, School of General Studies, and School of Engineering and Applied Science; as well as Jane Street and Two Sigma.
